Graduate School for Architecture and the Built Environment 

The Graduate School for Architecture and the Built Environment [A+BE] is TU Delft's framework for your PhD study in architecture, building technology, urbanism, landscape architecture, geomatics, management of the built environment and housing, covering aspects such as history, cultural heritage, and sustainability. 

The TU Delft Graduate School of Architecture and the Built Environment is a 'local school' in the framework of the overall TU Delft Graduate School. There are eight local Graduate Schools.

A+BE's vision is to consolidate the reputation of the Faculty of Architecture as a leading design academy/research institute; to be an international platform for innovation in architecture, building technology, urbanism, landscape architecture, geomatics, management of the built environment and housing; and to be a platform for debate on innovation in current and societal themes in architecture and the built environment.

A+BE's mission is to reinforce a research culture in a key design and engineering discipline; to educate leading international PhD students in architecture, building technology, urbanism, landscape architecture, geomatics, management of the built environment and housing; to perform excellent and innovative design-oriented research.

A+BE's objective is to play a key role in the cluster of architectural and urban-design industries in the west of the Netherlands, while developing a strong international presence, capitalising on the reputation of Dutch architecture and spatial planning and the significance of the Randstad as a leading European urban region.
